Original Fuzz - guitar straps made in Nashville

Have you ever heard about Orginal Fuzz? No, I do not mean any classic 80's stompbox from polish Exar or Koda. I mean a small manufactory located in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. So far, when I say Nashville I think about country music, but Kings Of Leon also comes from Nashville and that musical direction is more accurate signpost directing us to the Original Fuzz products. First of all to its original, vintage guitar straps.

A main inspiration which leads Original Fuzz founders to start their strap business was a trip to Peru, where they saw woven straps used as a traditional item of clothing. And so it began. Before straps they had an idea for a fuzz bag - which is also a part of their offer, but the straps are crème de la crème of Original Fuzz products.

The creator of the brand, Lee McAlilly, with his crew import materials from Peru and India. The materials used by Original Fuzz are hand-woven or have handmade stamping prints and patterns. The materials are sewn on cotton webbing base and leather elements which are combined together by retro-looking buckles and rivets. Generally,  the belt has the impression as if Jimmy Hendrix had it at the Monterey Pop Festival in  1967. This requires a lot of work, so their products can not be as cheap as basic polyester straps from music store. The effect for me is very good.

In Original Fuzz offer we can choose from the Peruvian, Savannah, Indian, Canvas, Skinny Leather, Solid and Seatbelt straps. They dominate the classic-inspired Indian and Peruvian colorful patterns given in vintage style. Some parts of their products are inspired by famous guitarists. For example, my covered with Indian hand-vowen fabric a white-burgundy strap is a tribute to Dimebag Darrell from Pantera. I don't know  whether Dimebag, would use such a strap, cos visually it doesn't fit into his style,  but we should appreciate that Darell still commands respect even in such "not true metal" places.

A key differentiator of Original Fuzz, is a popular idea of hand-made manufactory combined with vintage style and high quality. The straps aren't all what they do. Original Fuzz produce also cables, t-shirts, eco-bags, fuzz bags, camera straps and publish fanzine about music, art and culture. 100% DIY. I like it and I really appreciate it. Respect guys!

I know that guitar strap is a matter of low priority in completing guitar equipment, but a good guitar requires proper accesories. Interesting strap is always a nice addition. If you are interested in Original Fuzz straps you should definitely visit their website http://originalfuzz.com/.
